Religion
I feel so sad when I see religious leaders, being more concerned with trying to prove that their religion than they are with teaching people the most important lesson in ALL religions.
To do good onto others and to do no evil.
To do good onto others and to do no evil.

Important lessons I learnt this week about dance
1. Dance isn't just about showing off your own style or doing some cool move, it's about doing all that with relation to the music.
2. There's no such thing as a better dancer, there's only such a good dancer.
3. In freestyle dancing, the music moves you, you don't move the music.

Defining ourselves
I've been told by a lot of people, that they define themselves by what other people think of them. I guess that does make sense in some way, especially in this time and age where people care so much about what others think of them, even the basis for our definition of success is based off what other people think.
But I think at some point of time, we need to look in the mirror, and ask ourselves, "what do I think about myself?" Why do I say this? Because in society today, it becomes very easy to lose ourselves, our beliefs and our principles just to ensure that other people don't talk about you behind your back.
I'm not saying you shouldn't care at all about what others say, I mean, if someone pointed out that you did something wrong, then that's another story. What I mean is that you sacrifice your principles, and your basic beliefs just because of what someone else says or does.
Of course there are bound to be people who will disagree with you, or not like your beliefs, but that's life isn't it? It's impossible to make everyone happy. You only have one life to live, and I don't know about you, but I want to spend the one life that I have, being true to myself, and being to I want to be, rather than lie to myself just to get people to like me.

Singapore Dance Delight
Damn, the first Dance Delight in Singapore, and it was freaking awesome! All the groups were really good, and very inspirational.
The one thing I realize is that Singapore's dance scene is still very young. It is growing very rapidly, but still young.
It is therefore very, VERY important for us to build a solid foundation. Not only in our dance technique, but in our mindset, our beliefs and our knowledge as well. We are the first generation of dancers in Singapore, and it is up to us to make sure that there will be another generation after ours, and to help the scene grow and bring Singapore to the world standard.
One day, I hope to bring the popping scene in Singapore to the next level. Before that happens though, I still got a lot to work on. Especially since my exams are coming soon. LOL
Singapore Street Dance ftw! XD

Big weekend
This entire weekend has been crazy, in a good way I mean. I've been inspired and motivated to work harder and improve. One day, I wanna take on the world in terms of dance. It's not gonna be an easy road, I'm gonna have to work myself to exhaustion over and over again, but hell, I'm not gonna give up.
But before that, I've got my exams coming, and it's about time to get down to studying. Just one more month and this semester is over!

Damn, my projects and taking up almost all of my free time. Well, at least I only have about a month plus or so to go, gotta persevere, wouldn’t want to fail any of my modules and repeat them, having to do them once is more than enough for me.
I find that these days, I gotta really make choices as to what I really, really want to do with my time. I wish I had time and money to do everything I want, but unfortunately, I’m only human, and being human, I need to make choices and sacrifices. I guess that’s one of the things that people don’t really understand these days, they want to have everything they want, they just don’t understand that they cannot do so due to limited time and resources.
I’ve had a lot of time to think through my life, and the things I’ve done, I’ve finally realised what I want to do. I realised I should spend more time on the things and people I love, and don’t bother with the things and people I don’t.

Singapore Dance Delight!!! WOOT!!!
You know, watching all the teams do their choreography has once more reminded me, how important basics and foundations are.
The teams were fantastic and I enjoyed all the performances.
But the big highlight of the event, was at the end, when random dancers in the crowd just started dancing, and to quote Ben, "THAT'S what dance is all about!"
I'm glad I started dancing, and I'm gonna keep at it for a long, long time. One day I hope to make a great contribution to the Singapore dance scene too. ^^

So much to do, so little time.
Damn, my days are gonna be occupied alot with studying for my finals for this semester.
Corporate Accounting seems to be giving me a hell lot of trouble. Although, I guess it's mostly my own fault, for not revising and understanding my journal entries thoroughly.
Business Finance is not as bad, although there's still a big load of information and concepts to learn.
Last but not least, there's Small Businesses, which hasn't given me a lot of trouble yet, but there's still quite a big amount of reading to be done.
Other than my studies, I still gotta practice my popping basics, my hitting, my isolation, my lines, angles, everything.
Damn, how I wish there were more hours in a day.

Is it such a bad thing to make a mistake?
I wonder how has society come to the point today, whereby in our minds, making a mistake is the worst thing we can do. I mean, doesn't life consist on making mistakes and learning from them?
I see this kind of mindset wherever I go. In the classrooms, nobody dares to respond to a teacher's questions. In the studio, nobody wants to try to freestyle when we open up the floor for them to dance. We've come to a point where we don't even express our own opinions even if it's something we believe in.
Although it does help to prevent conflict to a point, but I think it's gonna get worse, to a point where we don't even have our own opinions anymore.
I think we need to change this attitude of ours, before we lose ourselves.

The unappreciated
You know, these days, I find more meaning in the more under-appreciated and unknown or obscure manga as compared to the more mainstream and popular mangas.
I feel that, the more mainstream and popular a manga or anime gets, the more shallow it becomes. And I think the same can be said for any art form.

New Blog
Hello everyone! I decided to switch from livejournal to blogspot, just to try it out.
Well, I guess first post should be an introduction about myself for those who're not familiar with who I am.
(Although when I think about it, if you're reading this, you should already be familiar with me anyway.... but ah well...)
Well then, name's Zach here, alot of people call me elmo, and hence that's how I got the name for this blog. Currently I'm still studying, doing a course in Accountancy in SIM, still got one more year before I graduate and have to start looking for a job.
My greatest passion in life is dance, more specifically, popping. A lot of people who know me should already know what popping is about, and if you don't, you can find out from me or any of the great poppers out there. Popping is what I'm gonna be doing for the rest of my life, whether full time or part time, the only problem would be making enough money to provide for my family. But that's not gonna make me stop.
My view on life? I think life is too short to spend being angry and petty. I'd rather spend what little time I have with the people I love, doing the things I love, than waste it being negative and apathetic.
Well, that's all the time I have for now, will write more in the near future. ^^
